Hancock Movie

Meet the superhero everybody loves… to hate.

That was one of the taglines of recently released superhero movie Hancock, starring Will Smith. The movie was a lot of fun with a nice plot twist. It was a unique superhero movie I’ve ever seen. I actually watched it in theater last July 4, a day after its release in the Philippines. Last week it has topped the US Box Office chart with $66 million. Whew! Another movie success for the man Will Smith.

Btw, the movie was about a drunkard and foul-mouthed man who lives in the streets of Los Angeles. He’s got superpowers, kicks every criminal’s butts, but he is going through some personal crisis which made him uninterested of being a real superhero. He doesn’t take saving people’s lives seriously that it always turns out to a disaster. His life changed though when he met Ray (Jason Bateman) while saving the man’s life from being hit by a train. In return, the man taught him how to use his powers responsibly and made him feel important when nobody else do. While getting attached to Ray’s family, he discovers the truth about the man’s wife and started to figure out who he is, his past, and the truth about his superpowers.

Fun Quotes
Old woman: And I can still smell that liquor on your breath!
Hancock: Cuz I’ve been drinking, b***h!

I also enjoyed this movie. Very NOT your typical Peter Parker or Bruce Wayne hero. He just do as he pleases… Lands were he wants, destructing properties and loves to drink.

I also got a little negative thoughts about the film which some also notice. Read my review for Hancock. http://henshinrebirth.net46.net/2008/07/05/theater-hancock/
